Marco Fu World Championships 2016

Well how excited are we all at Frames.  Marco is through to the Semi Finals of the World Championships.  He plays Mark Selby today (Thursday 28th April 16) at 7PM then continues at 2.30PM tomorrow.

Last night we were on the edge of our seat.  Marco had a great first session and start to the 2nd session going 9-1 up but then Barry Hawkins recovered from his match against Ronnie O’Sullivan to make a huge comeback to bring it 12-11 still in Marco’s favour.

Barry was still very much on form scoring 60 in the last frame to try and equalised but a chance opened for Marco to make a comeback and that he did.  What a break, from 60 down his break was 74 and for the frame and match.   We were on the edge of our seats willing him on and when that black went in Frames erupted.

Sorry for Barry’s loss as he has played extremely well and all credit to him and best of luck for the future.  But for now we celebrate Team Frames and we still have one man left in the tournament.  Come on Marco lets smash this today and go another step towards bringing the trophy to Coulsdon!!

Marco has knocked out Peter Ebdon, Anthoney Mcgill and Barry Hawkins to get to the Semi Finals.

Marco went on to play Mark Selby in the Semi Finals.  Sadly Marco lost 17-15 but he worked hard to keep the jester on his toes.  Marco had 4 centuries of 135, 114, 108, 100!

We are gutted that Marco didn’t get the World Championship final however its an amazing achievement to get to the Semi’s.
